 Diuretics- Loss of Sodium and Water, Retains Potassium
 Used For- Edema associated with Cirrhosis, CHF, Renal
Dysfunction, Hypertension, Diabetes Insipidus, Osteoporosis
 Interactions- Acute Hyperglycemia, Hyperkalemia
Side Effects
 Dizziness, Headache, Weakness, Fatigue, Drowsiness, Chest Pain,
Volume Depletion, Rash, Nausea, Loss of Appetite, Constipation,
Diarrhea, Fluid and Electrolyte Imbalance, Muscle Cramps, Hives,
Gouty Attacks, Flushing, Weight Loss, Muscle Spasms
What can I do?
 See your Health Care Provider- as needed; Take During the Day
not to Disturb Sleeping due to Increased Urination/Going to the
Bathroom; Good Mouth Care; Monitor Weight Loss or Gain
