What is it used for?
 Healing wounds, treating cuts, burns
 Internally as a tea- heal stomach ulcers, blood purifier
 Treating respiratory ailments of the lungs, bronchial passages, ulcers of the
bowels, stomach, liver, gallbladder
Other Names
 Slippery Root, Blackwort, Knitbone, Bruisewort
Signs and Symptoms
 Can cause liver damage animals linked to liver and gallbladder tumors
Information
 Not used due to poisonous herbs
 Available as a tea- dried leaf, cream, whole root
 ointments- used as a compress
What can I do?
 Maximum use internal- 10 days, internal use is toxic
 Do not combine with other herbs- unwanted side effects, alters action
 Do not use for medical purposes
 Do not give to children
 Do not use on wounds, use antiseptic or ointment as MD prescribes
