Signs and Symptoms:
*Chronic Use or Overdose- Allergic Reaction, Blurred Vision, Excitability, Headache,
Insomnia, Irregular Heartbeats, Nausea
*Combination Products containing Valerian- Overdose of 2.5 grams
may result in Liver Damage
*AVOID USING- with Alcohol or Drugs that Depress the CNS (Central
Nervous System), Antabuse; if Pregnant, Allergy to Valerian Products, if you
have Liver Disease, Driving until you know how Valerian affects you
*Children- Safety and Effectiveness is Unknown
Recommend:
*Common Doses- Capsules (250, 400, 450, 493, 530, 550 mg.), Tablets (0.8%
Valerenic acid with 250, 400, 450, 493, 530, 550 mg.), Tincture (2% essential oil
with 3 to 5 ml (1/2 to 1 t.) taken orally 2-3 times per day), Available with other
Dietary Supplements, Capsule or Tablet (400 to 900 mg.)- often taken 30 minutes to 1
hour before bedtime
*Teas- containing crude dried herb with 2-3 grams (1 t.) taken orally several times
per day
