 (I) Ibuprofen
o (S) Salicylates
 (P) Propoxyphene- (Darvocet)
 (O) Others- acetaminophen with codeine (Tylenol #3), Acetaminophen
with hydrocodone (vicodin, Lortab), Acetaminophen with oxycodone
(Percocet, Tylox), Aspirin with oxycodone (Percodan), Pentazocine
(Talwin), Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Propoxyphene (Darvon),
Meperidine (Demerol), Morphine
Effect of Medication on Nutritional Status:
 (Ι)−Upset stomach, stomach cramps, stomach pain, damages the lining
of the stomach
o (S)−Increases urinary excretion of Vitamin C, may cause nausea
 (P)-May cause constipation, nausea, and vomiting
Medication Intake:
 (Ι)−Take with Food
o (S)−Increase Vitamin C intake, may need supplementation, take with
food, AVOID ALCOHOL
 (P)-AVOID ALCOHOL
 (O)-AVOID ALCOHOL, take with food or milk if upset stomach
