What is it?
*Family- time to share
*Scheduled- Mealtimes, snacks, follow the schedule
-Set Goals- food to eat at meal time, not eat candy or junk food 1 hour later
Facts:
*Child- should feel like a welcomed guest
-Use- favorite cup, plate, bowl, spoon to serve foods
*Eating Habits- are formed at an early age
What can I do?
*See your Physician
*See RD for help as needed *See FFF RD on line for help
*Patience- child do not have a regular eating pattern, it takes patience to
succeed
-Eat- good one day and not the next day, eat together at the table
-Good Days- make sure your child eats a well balanced diet to make up for the
other days
*Talk- interact with child, plan fun eating times
*Plan- a tea party, baseball foods, picnic on a spring day, a week of menus with
children
*Favorite Food- give in small portion
*Grocery Shopping- have child to go with you , pick out some fun foods,
healthy foods, limited junk foods
*AVOID- forcing child to eat
*Serve- only small amounts of unhealthy foods
-Offer- new foods in small portions
*Remove Distractions- television, radio, internet
