How do you do the Calories?
*Weight divided by 2.2 = kilograms x 120 for children < 2 years of age
*Weight divided by 2.2 = kilograms x 80 if > 2 years of age
How do you do Protein needs?
*Kilograms x 1.75
How do you do the fluid needs?
*Kilograms x 120 if < 2 years of age
*Kilograms x 100 if > 2 years of age
What do I need to do?
*See your Pediatrician immediately
*Take to the local Health Department
*Take to the local Hospital
*Meet with a RD for Formulas
*If a child does not drink breast milk then try formula, make sure that the baby
does not get dehydrated in the first few days or weeks of life.
*It is alright to use both breast milk and formula
*Weights should be done on child weekly for the first few weeks of life and then
2 times per month and then monthly
