What is it and how does it work in the body?
*The body turns beta-carotene into Vitamin A and is stored in the liver and
is mobilized when needed and is transported to the tissues and forms a complex
with prealbumin and helps to prevent excessive losses of the vitamin
*Protein Deficiency- affects Vitamin A status
*Liver Disease- decreases serum levels of the vitamin and its binding protein,
increases with renal disease
*Oral Contraceptives- increase serum Vitamin A levels
