Child Requirements
What are the Requirements per Day?
*Calories - First Week - 50-100 Calories/kg.;
Active Growth- 110-150; > 2 years -80
*Carbohydrates - First Week - 7-12 gm/kg./day;
Active Growth- 12-15
*Protein - First 2 Weeks - 2 gm./kg./Day;
> 2 years- 1.75 grams/day
*Fat - First Week - 3-4 gm./kg.;
Active Growth- 5-8 gm/kg. - 40% total calories
*Fluid - First Week - 80-120 cc/kg.;
Active Growth- 120-200 cc/kg/day
*Sodium (Na+) - 1 to 1.5 grams per day
*Potassium (K+) - 2 grams/day
Example for 2-6 Years of age for a Day:
*Calories - 1200 - 1500 depending on height/bones/activity level
*Protein - 50-60 grams
*Carbohydrates - 140-160 grams
What can I do?
*Meal/Snacks- 3 Nutritious Meals and Snacks daily
*See Physician- monthly or as needed
*Have Registered Dietitian or Physician- Keep a Check on
Height,/Weight, and Food Intake of the Child to make sure
Growth Rate is Correct
