Colds
What is it?
*Colds- Brought to you by any 1 of over 200 viruses
*Common time - early spring, late winter
*Child - 6 colds per year, adult fewer
*Symptoms- Runny nose, red eyes, sneezing, sore throat, dry
cough, headache, body aches lasting 1 to 2 days
*As progresses nasal mucous thickens - end of the cold
*Cold lasts- about 1 to 2 weeks
What do I need to do?
*See a Physician
*Prevention- Eat a balanced diet, Get > 8 Hours of Seep a Night,
Wash hands frequently, Cover mouth when Cough or Sneeze,
Humidify House or Bedroom, Gargle with Warm Water
*AVOID- SMOKING, People with Colds
*Drink plenty of fluids - hot fluids relieve congestion
*Use disposable tissues - if sore nose use petroleum jelly
