(Ages 1 to 2Years)
What can I do?
*Use small utensils - cups, forks, spoons, plates
-familiar, easy to manipulate until better motor skills developed
*Serve portions according to the age
-small portions and increase or decrease as needed
-second helpings if requested
*Eat at the table with other family members
*Introduce foods of different textures, variety as tolerated
-soft, chopped, junior baby foods, bite sized pieces
*Serve 3 meals and nutritious snacks daily

Do Not:
*Serve over sized portions
*Add sugar and salt to foods
*Season foods, do as lightly as possible
*Make a habit of eating meals out, better to eat at home
*Eat nuts, popcorn, foods with seeds, hard candies
*Eat fried foods or limit
