Toddler Feeding Guidelines
(SnackFoods)
What Foods and Amounts:
*1/4 cup Jello and 1-2 Graham Crackers
*1/2 Apple, fresh slices with Fruit Fresh and 3 Vanilla Wafers
*1 oz. Cheese, Mild and 2 Saltines and 1/2 cup Milk
*1/2 cup Milk and 3 Ginger Snaps
*1/2 cup Milk and 2 Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
*1/3 cup Sherbet and 1/2 cup Fruit Cocktail
*1/2 Banana or 1 small Banana and 1 T. Smooth Peanut Butter and 1/2 c. Milk
*1 1/4 inches Square Angel Food Cake with 1/2 cup Fruit
*1/2 cup Applesauce and 2 T. Cottage Cheese
*1 slice Whole Wheat Toast with 1 t. Jelly or 1 T. Peanut Butter and 1/2 cup Milk
*3/4 cup Frosted Flakes, 1 small Banana and 1/2 cup Milk
*1 slice Whole Wheat Toast with 1 oz. Mild Cheese and 1/2 cup Milk
What do I need to do?
*See a Physician
*See FFF Registered Dietitian- on line
*See a Registered Dietitian- for help with Meal Planning
*Try and Eat- more meals at home and less out
*Less- Fried Foods, Spicy Foods
*Avoid foods child can get chocked on easily- hotdogs, nuts, seeds, popcorn
*Plan- 3 nutritious Meals and snacks daily
*DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST or ANY MEAL or SNACK
*Use- Whole milk unless otherwise instructed
*Do Not Use- Low Fat Foods Unless Physician or Registered Dietitian advise
*Encourage- Children to eat, never force
*Never- use as a Discipline or as a Reward
