- Amphetamine- methamphetamine/speed, methylenedioxymethamphetamine MDMA, Adam, Ecstasy
- MDMA- used with little ventilation in a warm room with a physically active person death can occur or sweats heavily with no fluid replacement
- Uncontrolled- physical and psychological dependence
- Controlled-STOP

- Prescribed- for weight loss, decrease appetite
- MDMA- toxic to the nervous system
- Symptoms- reduce fatigue; increase alertness, concentration, physical performance, blood pressure, heart rate; feeling of euphoria or wellness, to help stay awake; fatal heart attack have occurred, blood vessels in the brain rupture causing a stroke and may cause paralysis or death; severe anxiety, paranoia, distorted sense of reality; audio and visual hallucinations
- Schizophrenia- more vulnerable
- Discontinue use- fatigue, sleepy, restless, anxious, severe depression, suicidal
- Blood Pressure- can become so high that the blood vessels rupture causing stroke, paralysis, death
