*Planned physical activity- performed repetitively to develop and maintain
fitness for health
What does it do?
*Lowers the Blood Pressure
*Lowers the bad fats in the blood and raises the good fats
*Makes the heart stronger
*Prevents constipation
*Helps with blood sugar
*Reduces stress
*Promotes weight loss
*Makes you feel GREAT!!!
How to Start a Program?
*Talk with your Physician for his approval
*Should be able to exercise without feeling pain, sore muscles but
2 days after not sore
*30 minutes 3 times per week or 15 to 20 minutes daily
*Fitness is measured by maximum oxygen uptake
*Stretching muscles- trying different exercises daily, getting your
cardiovascular rate up
*Intensity- more important that duration
*Exercise slowly and increase the intensity gradually
